Remember when the only data you needed to backup was stored on your computer? All you had to do was copy a few files to another location and you were done. Even though people are spending unprecedented amounts of time online, many don't realize how much data they have in cloud storage that could be lost without a separate backup system in place.
Think about it. How many photos do you have on Facebook, Picasa and Flickr that would be lost forever if they ever got corrupt or your pages hacked? How much sensitive business data do you have stored on Google Docs and Gmail? It's easy to feel like these websites are safe storage, and for the most part they are. Social media and web apps
Backupify's social media plans handle your Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Zoho, Picasa, Google Contacts, Flickr, Blogger, Google Calendar and Google Docs. If you have a Google Apps domain for your business, you'll need a separate plan.
The free "personal" plan
This level lets you backup three social media and Gmail accounts. You get a one GB storage limit that backs up on a weekly basis. If you need help with your account, they give you technical support by email. This level is free and takes only a couple of minutes to sign up.
The MyCloud 100 plan
This level lets you backup five social media and Gmail accounts. Your storage capacity is limited to ten GB and your information is backed up nightly. You can receive support by email, phone, or online, whichever you prefer. There's a free 30-day trial and after that it's $4.99 a month. This plan is great if you frequently upload photos or videos directly from a mobile device or have important Gmail accounts you want stored safely.
The MyCloud 500 plan
This level is a bit more expensive at $19.99 a month. It's perfect if you have lots and lots of photos, videos, and documents stored online and you need them to remain secure. You're allowed unlimited accounts, unlimited storage, and your data is backed up every night. There's tech support by email, phone or web, and you can get a free 30-day trial for this level, too.
Backup your entire Google Apps domain
A separate service plan handles all your backup needs for your Google Apps domain. If you run any kind of virtual business through Google, it's a lifesaver. You get automatic daily backups, but you can also initiate a backup at any time. You can download certain information or entire user accounts to your desktop. And if anything ever goes wrong, you can restore your entire Google Apps account with one click. This plan starts at $3 per user per month for 25 GB of data. (You can purchase a year at a time to make things easy.) Backupify will work with you to design the right size plan for you, and you can modify it as you need to.
Each account has certain features that can be backed up and some that can't. For instance, Facebook Places and insight data cannot be backed up. So, there are some limitations, but not many. Take a moment to look at your social media and Google accounts - there's probably more important data there than your realize. Don't risk losing it. Your data, photos, videos, posts and comments can never be stolen, corrupted or deleted when you back them up using Backupify.
